8th Grade End of Year Activities

Dear 8th Grade Parents/Guardians,

The end of the 2021-22 school year is quickly approaching. We would like to share information on our upcoming end of year 8th grade class events celebrating our students.

All class events are solely run on donations from our community. If you have not done so already, please consider donating using this link to our FutureFund webstore. To check to see if you have already contributed, please login into your account and review your purchase history. If you purchased the "8th grade Bundle" option at the beginning of the school year, this included the cost of the Six Flags field trip and End of Year Party. If you have not made a contribution, there is an option to contribute to each individual event at this time. Please contact the IHMS front office if you have any questions at 925.790.2500.

High School and Summer Advancement Information

District Information on Student Advancement (for Non-District Courses)

Students who are planning on taking a course over the summer must follow the directions carefully, apply for advancement through the district, and THEN make an appointment with Mrs. Laake (Lawver).  Appointments are ONLY for students.  Multiple students may attend the same appointment. (If you have a friend who is also interested in advancing and has similar questions, please make one appointment and let Mrs. Laake know, she can invite the other student).

To schedule an appointment with Mrs. Laake

MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS:

  • Eighth grade students are welcome to start (and complete) a course for advancement in the spring; however, it will not be put on the student’s high school transcript for credit (a note will be made in the comments section: “math course taken for advancement”, if applicable)

  • If current eighth grade students wish for a summer course to be put on their high school transcript, they must complete the course after they promote from middle school, in the summer after eighth grade.

  • Algebra 1 is a graduation requirement, so it must be completed AFTER promotion from 8th grade.
